CAR file?

hello,

i'm teaching myself how to create olap reports using the database the comes
with cr xi.
on the first screen, i have an option of olap or car files.
live looked in the help and the business objects web site, but can't find
any info on .car files, so i'm hoping that someone can tell me something
about .car files
