Repeat Column Headers in mUlti column report
|

| I have a multi-column report and I want to repeat the column header when it
wraps to the next column.
Can anyone tell me how to do this.
The column header is in a group. It is functioning great when the group
changes and prints correctly at the top of the next column.
But if the group remains the same it does not print.
Thanks in advance.

| Hi John,
There is an option, when setting up a group, to "Repeat Group Header On
Each Page". Is this what you want?

| No. I did this but if a column spans more than 1 column the header does not
print again.
Not only that the detail lines print where the header should be.
I would like the header to print on every column regardless whether it is
the sane as the previous.
Does that make sense?

| Hi John,
I think I understand now. I don't think there is any easy way to get
the group headers above each column. You might be able to insert another
detail section, put the group header field in there and then suppress it
everywhere except at the top of the page. That might not be very easy, but
I don't think there's anything else that would be easier.

| Actually that is what I did.
I also suppress it when the remainder/20 <> 0 since I can only have 50
rows.
It seems to work although it is not a great solution.
I can't understand the lack of sophistication in such a mature product.
Thanks for your replies.

| I'm happy to try and help when I can.
In the past, I've seen posts regarding a number of issues, that from a user
standpoint seem like they should be readily available. But, from the CR
developers standpoint, it may be very difficult to implement certain
features. They keep improving the product with each new version and they
seem to be addressing more user issues than they have in the past.
