Backward compatibility from Xi to 10

| A client of mine has a Crystal Reports 10 Developer license and has
installed it on their server.
I intend to purchase the latest version for myself and wondered if Xi would
be compatible on their server?
Crystal is the reporting tool (duh) used on the Web applications I designed
for them in ASP/SQL Server and the server currently uses CR 8.5 to generate
the reports in PDF via the Active X viewer (using the ASP examples provided
by B.O.)
I wonder if it is possible to save the reports as version 10 just like
version 8 allowed to saved as version 7, or if the reports can be ran on
version 10 and 11 indistinctly.
I also have no clue how to generate Web reports with the latest versions of
CR but I guess I'll have to learn it.
Thanks a lot!

| CR XI and 10 are "compatible". What that means is that you can load a CR XI
report in CR 10 and it will display fine. However, if you use new features
of CR XI that are not supported in CR 10 (e.g. cascading paramters), then
those features will be disabled in CR 10.

| Thanks a lot, Brian.
How is Web reporting handled in Crystal 10 and 11?
I'd like to create ASP pages which produce reports in PDF. Report is saved
on the hard drive and then a redirect loads it.

| Glad that helped. However you other question is too involved to answer here.
Check out their support site for samples and downloads.
