Author Smartphone clock synchronziation with external source

I didn't see this post come over from Google groups so I thought I would
post it here directly.

"Does anyone know if any of the SmartPhone devices synchronize their
clocks with an external source? I know that when connected through
ActivcSync, that the clock on the SmartPhone will be set to the clock
value on the PC. What I'm wondering about is more like a "cell tower
synchronization" process.

I know that other phones device will synchronize their clock values
from a cell tower. However, I'm wondering about SmartPhones. Does
the capability exist to do this? Are there various carriers
(T-Mobile, Cingular, etc.) that have this capability, specifically for
SmartPhone?

More specifically I'm wondering if you're travelling across country
with the SmartPhone, will the clock be constantly adjusting based on
where you are? For example, will the timezones be changing. Say you
drive through Arizona where daylight savings time is not observed, will
the clock's timezone be set to "GMT-7 Arizona", or "GMT-7 Mountain"?

Can someone please shed some light on this. Thanks

I'm wondering the same thing, and if the carrier won't do it I'm
looking at the possibility of writing my own app to do it. It would be
impossible without the having an API function get this info from the
carrier. Anyone have details on this?

it's a minor update to a major release, in this case the major release
is WM5. Microsoft provide device makers updates, usually with bug fixes,
but sometimes features too. AKU 2 is famous for having push mail.
