There appears to be no way to get to a cmd shell or explorer window
with the Smartphone 2005 emulator.
The best I can do is install the "Device Command Shell"

ce start "\Storage Card\cmd.exe" but it's still really awkward.
My eventual goal is to connect to the desktop Application Verifier.
Any ideas how to get an explorer window?

Maybe copying one from your smartphone? My T-Mobile SDA II has a very
good one.

Prior to WM5.0 AKU 2 there was no Microsoft provided explorer in SP
(there is in PPC). OEMs all provided there own ones. MS introduced on in
AKU 2, but the emulators are based on 'AKU 0' as it were, so they don't
have it.
