Audio routing management in Smartphone.

We are porting a Smartphone 2004 OS to our hardware.
Is there a way to define audio routing and manage internal states by ourself

Use case example:
We are playing MP3 file and there is an incoming call. How the system can be
configured:
a) to mix ringtone with mp3 that currently is playing
or
b) to stop mp3 and play ring tone and in case of reject - continue playing
mp3.

We implement WAV driver as a "pipe" to our hardware.
