Cannot establish a connection ?

| Hi all,
I use vb.net 2003, Smartphone2003,MPX200.
I wrote a sample application and could run it in the past on the emulator.
I recently get this error:
Error: Cannot establish a connection. Be sure the device is physically
connected to the development computer.
I am using the emulator... why should the device be connected anyway (it is
connected?)
How do I solve this problem?

I did lots of stuff listed here:

Finally - only HARD-RESET to the EMULATOR - helped...
