VS 2005 error calling Web Service from Smartphone?
|
|
|
| I am using the Visual Studio 2005 Beta. I have created a simple web service
which makes a simple SQL db call and returns one field to return to the
smartphone. This WS works in a winforms app but when I try to call it via
the emulator I get the following error:
An unhandled exception of type 'System.Net.WebException' occurred in
System.Web.Services.dll
Additional information: Could not find resource assembly
Any ideas?

| I'd suggest logging this as a bug through the MSDN Product Feedback center,
and include a pointer to your webservice (if it's on the public internet) so
we can try debugging it on our end. The data bits that shipped in Beta 1
weren't the greatest, and we've made a ton of changes since then. It's
likely this has been resolved by now.

| Which "latest build" do you mean? The December CTP drop? If so, those bits
are completely broken for data development. If it's not a CTP drop then you
should log the bug through the channels provided with the information you
received with the build.
