Microphone API's for PPC and Smartphone?

We are developing an application for Pokcet PC Phone Ed and Smartphone that
needs to access the microphone which is built-in the devices. The
application is written in C++.

Are there API's available for this on the PPC and Smartphone?

Look at the waveInxxx APIs in Help.
