I tried posting this one before but it doesn't look like it was posted. I apologize if it was and I was just too stupid to find where it was posted.

I'm working on a personal project. What I have is a Linux apache server that I do all of my developing on. Then I check my CGI code with a laptop.

What I want to do is be able to write a script that will allow me to launch applications using the web browser remotely. Example: I would like to be able to click on a link in a web page running on my apache server that I access with my laptop and have it open an application on my local laptop.

Is there a module I can get, or is there a way to code this feature? Thanks.
