If you have not yet visited www.osalt.com, I'd recommend you go and have a
look.
The website lists open source alternatives for well-known commercial
programs (e.g. adobe acrobat,
Norton Antivirus). If you don't know the name of a corresponding commercial
program, you can also
do application search with key words like "mp3", "pdf" or "antivirus".
I am happily using Clam for virus protection, but have no experience on the
other programs you mention.
