Vlc and a netcam

I have a Linksys wireless NetCam, well runnng using propietary
software.

Now I would use it also with Videolan, but I am not able to see the
stream.

I already tested using network input within my wireless lan, using the
url of the cam(http://192.168.0.x, but nothing.

Someone can help me?
Where and how can I select the netcam and finally see something?
