| Hello
I'm looking for suggestions and advise to solve the following question :
Is there a mean to install on a private lan a dedicated 'proxy mail' server?
the goal is to make this server appears as a local IMAP server,
but thiswould be only a relay to an extarnal mail server living at the
provider's
site (it's a proffesionnal external mail server, where each user has its own
mailbox)
On the LAN, client could use std OUTLOOK (they use to ..so probably needed -
but Thunderbird is also an idea) to connect to the local IMAP server
that would gather down to it all the mailboxes (pop3) from the external
server.
Mail would stay at this 'relay' and never more copied to client hard drive
as it is today.
Hope I'm clear enought...
Not fixed on the kind of solution, could be whatever works (linux ou Win) ,
but preferably open source.
Thanks a lot
