Not an entire category, no. There have probably been some specific
shareware software applications that have suffered individually due to
freeware and Open Source/Free Software, but I can't come up with a
specific example at the moment. Perhaps some calculator programs on
the Palm that were obliterated by EasyCalc appearing on the scene?
