Hi,

just look at the object of the message:
does it exists an opensource outlook equivalent software, with the same
fonctions (mail, agenda,...)

Thanks

Mozilla's Thunderbird is getting close to a full replacement, and will
be more so when "Lightning" is added to it, maybe in the middle of this
year.

For the Linux platform you could look at Ximian Evolution, is a very
good replacement for Outlook.

Sdg:
yes, "kontact" is quite good, it integrate kmail etc...
It comes automatically with Fedora 3 latest up2date, look at
office-->kontact.

Yes, I think Evolution is pretty good. I don't use it because it looks
too much like Outlook Express, I use Opera's own e-mail client (but it's
not open-source).

That's a surprising reason to base a software decision on. ???

I advocate using Mozilla Thunderbird. I switched over from OE a long
time ago and am glad I did. It has replaced OE completely except for
Hotmail integration.

Since then I've switched to a couple Yahoo accounts for my junk accounts
and use TBird with YahooPops (a proxy that makes your webmail act like a
standard POP3 account).

The spam protection alone has made it worth the jump. Also, it's MUCH
easier to back up my mail and newsgroups preferences. Just copy your
profile folder under Application Data\Mozilla and all is good.

Mail is saved as a standard "mbox" format in plain text and is much
easier to back up and get everything running again when I have to format
or switch systems.
