I wouldn't use NT's partitioner, as I've never had much luck with it.
First partition the disk from a linux rescue cd using fdisk, then
install Windows, then install Linux. Installing Windows first will make
the process less tedious - Linux recognises and respects Windows's boot
block, while Windows doesn't return the favor.

Caveat: If you have two disks, one being primary and one being
secondary - and you thought you would be smart by keeping Linux on the
primary drive and Windows on the secondary, think again. Windows XPwill
refuse to use a partition on a secondary drive - it must be a bug, or
maybe a feature. Either way, you want Windows to be on the primary
drive...
