Hi,

I'm interested in starting an opensource project which
is a typical java-database general purpose application
for loosely-structured-information sharing within
organization or over the internet.

Part of the reason the idea is not disclosed further
in this post is because the idea is not fully conceptualized
in my mind at the moment and describing what I have in my
mind at the moment may not sound very exciting (but it is -
if you just believe me for now :)

Technologies involved (loosely listed - may involve
more/less/different technologies):
----------------------------------------------------
Core Java, JSP-Servlets (on Tomcat), XML-XSLT, MySQL,
Jakarta Commons

Requirements:
-------------
Previous software development experience in any of the
above listed technologies.
Strong commitment to completing the project and atleast
one day availability over the w

end for a period of 3-4
months :)
Previous Experience with developing Open source software
would be a definite plus (I lack this at the moment).

My credentials:
---------------
Currently pursuing MS CS at Univ of Cincinnati,
Previous experience of over 3 years in J2EE based
software development. Currently working as a part-time
programmer (Java based technologies).
My main motivation behind starting this project is
to get a feel of working on an open source project as
well as the excitement of implementing an idea that
I believe would be widely accepted. Last but not the least:
get a feel of working independently on a project where
the developer is one of the end-user.

mode of contact) with your previous experience and what you
have been upto at present and what you hope to get out of
this experience. *** Please do not send resumes ***

My initial estimate is that developing the crux of
the project would require about 3-4 months @ 15hrs/w

effort per developer with not more than 4 developers
(2 should be enough to get started.). Please do not respond
if you are not sure whether you will be able to spend atleast
10hrs/w

over a period of 3 months.

Project would be set up on sourceforge and incorporate the
GNU GPL.

I would like to start the project in a w

or two.

Tell me about this project ! I may have some work that interest you in PHP
easily portable to Java.

Am nithin from India , am interested in working for an opensource project , I hav about an year experience in java technologies, I am excited about being in the open-source community too...
just let me know about ur idea and lets see if we can kick-off !
