I'm looking for FreeBSD desktop users to create together a bash script to
install a complete desktop automatically. This would include, but wouldn't
be limited to:
- MS Fonts
- Macromedia Flash player
- Opera for Linux
- Mozilla software
- Java Runtime Environment
- OpenOffice.org
- Icons, Wallpaper
- CD Burning Software
- Internet Explorer with Wine (maybe)
- Localization (l10n)
The script would download and install the desired software from distfiles
if possible.
We could also create a small CD-ROM downloadable through bit-torrent.

Has this gone anywhere? I was going to write some scripts to help a friend, who has never used FreeBSD, setup a desktop environment. I thought I'd search the net and see if any existed first and came across this message.

I'm interested in this and if I could be of assistance let me know.

...

Have you checked out http://www.livebsd.org/ ?

They have a FreeBSD Live CD ready to boot and use that can also install directly to your harddrive (If I recall).

I know this isn't exactly what you wanted, but I decided to post it anyway.
