I have a larger image dat set and I have calculated mean and standard
deviation by considering a region of interest. Now I have to do
gaussian fitting to this data set and measure FWHM (full width at half
maximum).I have seen the relationship between standard deviation and
FWHM.

Now my question can I just use this equation to calculate FWHM or if I
have to gausian fit to this image data can I determine through the
general formula as

Where I have mean and stdev and 'x' as image value.

Is this the right way to do? Any suggestions would be great help.

Thanks.
