All the problems above now make sense (now that I've had a few
conversations with the author of the program) and all have been fixed in
the source code by Luigi Auriemma in daa2iso.exe, version 0.1.1.

Method #4 above had failed on daa2iso.exe version 0.1 because I had renamed
the files from foo.part01.daa to part01.daa. The reason method #4 failed
was that Luigi Auriemma had assumed the DAA files would be as created by
PowerISO (e.g., filename.part01.daa); but I had renamed my files (from
foo.part01.daa to part01.daa) because they had huge names with spaces.

Luigi kindly modified his code in version 0.1.1 on Dec 24 2007 to handle
any file names, including those of the type "part01.daa" that I had
renamed. As of version 0.1.1 of daa2iso.exe, step #4 will now work.

Method #5 above failed because it was not the correct way to run on
multiple files. The correct way to run on multiple files is as shown in
step #4 (with the new version of daa2iso). However, the older version of
daa2iso overwrote files in step 5. The new version 0.1.1 of daa2iso.exe
will not overwrite the second DAA file in this situation.

In summary, the way to run Luigi Auriemma's daa2iso.exe windows freeware
DAA conversion download is to simply point it at the first file as shown in
#4 above (using the latest version 0.1.1 or newer).

Here is my log:
c:\tmp> daa2iso.exe part01.daa foo.iso
which reported back ...

Well what would be the point of being thieves and pirates;
if there were no free tutorials? A real service to the cyber
community there. All you are doing is providing more
justification for additional protection schemes.
