No flashlight is lost, here the answer:

1 minute person and 2 minute person cross together with the flashlight
(takes 2 minutes).

1 minute person returns with the flashlight to the original side (takes
1 minute).

5 minute person and 10 minute person cross together with the flashlight
(takes 10 minutes).

2 minutes person returns with the flashlight to the original side
(takes 2 minutes).

1 minute person and 2 minute person cross together with the flashlight
(takes 2 minutes).

Adding all the times together (2+1+10+2+2) provides a total time of 17
minutes.
