zlib.dll with parameters

Hi:

I've been decompressing data (from a pdf) encoded using the
zlib/deflate compression method with zlib dll in MSVC++ 6.0 no
problem.

Now, I've found a pdf with the flated data AND a "/DecodeParms" entry:

.....
/Filter/FlateDecode
/DecodeParms
<<
/Predictor 15
/Columns 256[color=darkred]
....

The questions:

Can I use these parameters in zlib.dll? Do I HAVE to use them?
