| Hello all,
This is not specific to a Winrar version, just to Winrar in general. I
never seem to be able to get the bloody bastard to decompress files...
always get a "Unknown method in 'my filename'" and "No files to extract".
What's the deal with this bleepin' counter-intuitive abomination
program? Thanks.

Thank you for your kind assistance all. It appears that the problem was
just that simple. I had dloaded within the last few months what I
thought was one of the latest versions (I dloaded version 2.8,
actually), and as such never thought nor believed that the problem I was
experiencing trying to open these .rar archives was due to an antiquated
version, since I seem to remember having some of the same problems at
least a year ago. I seem to recall cursing this Winrar for years now...
somehow never had the most up-to-date version, and apparently everyone
else was continually compressing their files with the latest version.
Good grief!
