I'm missing the Web templates (they use to appear!) from Visual Studio.

I have no " File > New > WebSite" link

I've tried:

1. Running devenv /setup,
2. Running devenv /installvstemplates
3. Going into Tools > Options > Projects And Solutions and setting the user
item template location to point directly into the template location in
Program Files\MS V8\Common\IDE\Item templates

Nothing works - any other tricks to get this to install before I must do a
full installation again (this is the second or third time in the pass couple
of months - I know, need to make a mirror copy of a good installation!!)

TIA

I had the same problem. Web Project templates disappeared. I finally reinstalled VS 2005 Pro and everything worked, then suddenly no Web templates again.

I took about but I finally realized that both times I had run Registry Mechanic. I looked through the Registry Mechanic backups and found some Visual Studil 8.0 registry entries that had been removed. I restored them and everything is back again.

Hope this helps.
