VB6 upgrade failed

Tried to use converter to upgrade small VB6 project to VS.net

Error: "upgrade failed. Exception occurred. Could not load
referenced components"

Several dll, ocx and TLB files listed - likely from VB6

It goes on to recommend I install VB^ and compile the program to make
sure it works.

It already does work, at least on non Windows XP pro machines.

Suggestions for how to get past this upgrade issue?
