Author Problem installing SP5/6 for VS6

After much trial and error, I have VS6 loaded and working fine. I installed
VS6 after having VS.Net2003 installed for some time. XP Pro, SP1 + all
updates.

When I attempt to install SP5 or SP6, I get a dialogue box stating that the
install was unsuccessful - immediately following all of the I-Agree-Go-Ahead
stuff.

Any ideas? A registry entry or environment variable or something?
