I have just obtained a new boxed cooy of Microsoft InterDev 6.0 Professional.

I am installing it on personal Windows XP Home computer.

When I first put the set up cd (disk1) into the cd drive and it finishes it autorun, after I say yes I will accept the terms and conditions of using this product etc....i get a error message:

16 bit windows subsystem
C:\Windows\System32\autoexec.nt. The system file is not suitable for running MS-Dos and Microsoft windows applications....

When I did a search and looked in this directory, I could not find this file.

What does this error mean, and is there a way to bypass this message, or use the regular autoexec.exe file to run this application.

Why wont Interdev work? How do I get it to work?

URGENT - university student needs this asap.

Many thanks - email please as well ksorman@shaw.ca and/or post message here.

hmmmm, interdev on xp home... check the product requirements, if it
requires iis you won't be able to do it on xp home since that os doesn't
support iis. i can't find the system requirements just for interdev 6.0
right now, but they should be on the box or in the documentation for it.

I have also downloaded a free copy of the AByss web server, instead of IIS and it works fine. I am pretty sure I can get this copy of interdev to work on xp home. Please help with the setup error message I got, thanks.

I know of two other computers which are funning xp pro (not home) and interdev version 6 professional, and visual studio is running perfectly.

The documentation that came with the boxed set says "you need Win 95 OS or later, or Win Nt 4.0 or later" along with pentium, etc requirements.

I do not foresee any reason why this would not work.
Anyone else with any ideas? Thank you so much.
