| Hi Lloyd,
I think the Visual Studio 2005 beta1, which is the latest version of Whidbey has got the Compact Framework 2.0 in it, with the Smart Devices Application Template, although I think this is with Visual CSharp Express.
Visual C# 2003 .NET came with the CF 1.0.
The latest release comes with 2.0, which can be used for applications with the latest release of Windows XP Embedded, which has just come out and also Windows CE 5.0.
The CF 1.0 is for Windows CE 4.2.
I'm hoping to get code up on my web-site with information on the Compact Framework.
Point your browser to it if you feel you are interested in a few w s time when I'll have something up there that you might be interested in. At the moment it's pretty bare.

There's another link worth checking out on Embedded
http://msdn.microsoft.com/embedded - it's quite .
