By looking into this table:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/p...comparison.aspx

I can see that Academic version of VS.Net 2003 have everything that
Professional have and even more (some learning tools/doc). Is this true?
What are limitations of Academic version comparing to Professional?

AFAIK, the software is the same except that the Academic version has product
activation - which keeps you from installing it to multiple machines - which
you're not supposed to do with Pro anyway (unless you buy licences for the
additional machines).

However, you may or may not have licence restrictions with Academic.
Generally, the Academic licence forbids using your copy for commercial
purposes (ie. you can't sell the programs you make). However, some people
have reported their academic version having a licence that doesn't
specifically forbid this.

Bottom Line: If you're just wanting to learn VS.net - buy the academic
version - it's got everything Pro does. If you're going to use it to create
applications you're making for your business or applications to sell to
others, then you're probably safer buying Pro.
