Will this subscription give me free access to the next version of Visual
Studio that is being designed now for Vista? I would hate to buy VS 2005 now
and have to upgrade again next year.

Thanks.

Hi,

In general, if you subscribe to MSDN you'll get access to which ever
version of Visual Studio is current, but who knows what will happen in
the future?

You can download "Orcas" previews as add-ons to Visual Studio 2005 today.

Since we don't know when "Orcas" (next version of Visual Studio) will be
released, there is no way to know whether it will be offered during the
timeframe of your subscription. I can say that the next version of VS
realistically should not be anticipated before summer 2007.

Thanks dudes. I ordered the MSDN Pro subscription with VS 2005 Pro tonite
from MS. Is it two years for that subscription? If so, I should still be in
when Orca emerges.

I thought it was one year?

If it is two years, you are highly unlikely to miss the new version.
Otherwise, I doubt you care about waiting for anything beyond two years from
now?
