(Redmond, WA) In a stunning acknowledgement of Kevin John Panzke's power and
influence, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates announced he will step down as
Chief Software Architect. "I regret we failed to meet Kevin's expectations,
" Gates explained, "but I am stepping aside so that others may have the
chance to do better." Industry analysts are watching carefully to see how
Ray Ozzie will satisfy Panzke.
Some speculate that Microsoft is already in the process of running a
fiber optic link from the Windows Vista Build Lab directly to Panzke's
computer. A Microsoft spokesperson who declined to be identified said,
"Fiber optic? I hadn't hear that one, but we are definitely looking at
relocating the entire Build Team to Algonquin, Illinois so that we can put
fresh builds into Kevin's hands while the media is still warm from the
burner."
John Schmitt, President of the Algonquin Village Board, eagerly
anticipated the software maker's expansion into his small community
northwest of Chicago. "Certainly we would like to see economic growth in the
area, but most importantly we believe Kevin Panzke should have immediate and
full access to every Windows Vista build from now until release. Actually,
we have our fingers crossed for Microsoft to stay well after release, so
that Kevin can get first dibs on Service Pack 1 builds. Our police
department stands ready to escort any Microsoft deliveries to Kevin, any
time of the day or night."
