Author Private Memory bytes increasing....

hi pals,

In my win32 console appl, Private bytes is seems to be increasing even if
iam not allocating any variable dynamically.
Privates bytes in Perfmon.exe shows twice the value of original allocated
bytes, say if 10Mb is actually allocated means Privates bytes shows 20
Mb(approximate). Why?
While calling functions, private bytes seems to be increasing.
Is passing parameters like pointer, char etc..to the functions will make
this effect?

Expecting good ideas from you.

@ Shahul.
