Outlook - Script error message
|
|
|
| I have a computer (Win XP SP2) that is displaying the following error message
when I try to print from Outlook 2002 or internet explorer 6.
Internet Explorer Script Error
Line 227
Res://C:\Windows\System32\shdoclc.dll/preview.dlg
I have tried doing the following with no result:
-Reinstalling windows 5.6 script engine from MSDN.
-Disabling script debugging in internet explorer in the tools - option
advance tab (played around with this and other settings).
-Clearing the enable third – party browser extension (requires restarts)
checkbox in the internet options advance tab.
-Running spysweeper. (just some cookies)
-Running the Antivirus. (clean)
-The computer has the most recent software updates by Microsoft.
-Disabling the windows firewall.
-Doing a repair of the office XP professional 2002 through control panel.
-Restarting numerous times. Logging in as administrator, normal user, and
the problem continues.
Open outlook or internet explorer
Go to file
Print
Error message….
I can print from Microsoft word or any other application. Has anyone come
across this problem? Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

This is MSDN - it says so in the topic, newsgroup, or page? Anyhow...
This is OUTLOOK giving you this error? Hmm... Okay then...
Anyhow...
Does it fix it if you close IE and Outlook Express and then click on start >
run > type "regsvr32 ole32.dll" without the quotes > press enter?
You may then, and rebooting earlier than this isn't gonna do you any good,
need to reboot but you shouldn't. You may also need to detect and repair
from the help menu in Outlook though it seems you've tried that from the
control panel. I'm not sure what the firewall bit was about. The plug-ins
shouldn't effect Outlook at all. Script Engine's likely not going to matter
one bit?
Anyhow, if the above doesn't fix it look in an Outlook group perhaps?
