Author "The page cannot be displayed" in MSDN Library Visual Studio 6.0

I'm happily using an old version of Visual Basic 6.0, with dito old MSDN
Library CD's. It worked perfectly for a few years: I could hit F1 at any
word from within Visual Basic to get help. Since a few days now, I'm getting
a "The page cannot be displayed" error message, in the help text area.
Strange enough I can start "MSDN Library Visual Studio 6.0a" directly, and
that works fine. I did remove and re-install the SW a couple of times, tried
some several settings in IE, but no luck sofar. Can anybody guess what has
happened with my computer that is blocking the MSDN help? (It runs on XP
prof, SP2)
Many thanks.

You could try the following, which worked for me!

Close the MSDN Library and add the following entry to your local registry.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\HT
MLHelp\1.x\ItssRestrictions\MaxAllo=
wedZone=3D1

where MaxAllowedZone is a DWORD

The key already exists in my registry. So that didn't cure. Any other hints?
Strange is that starting MSDN Library from Start->Programs works fine, but
it cannot be invoked from Visual Basic it seems.
Drives me nuts, I've tried many things already.
Hope somebody has a clue.
