Announcement: Virtual Server 2005 Standard now available (again)
|

| Virtual Server 2005 Standard is now available to Enterprise and Universal
subscribers on the MSDN Subscriber Downloads site. It is in the "Servers"
folder, but will not show in the new downloads section. This is a permanent
addition, there are no plans to remove it from MSDN going forward.

| Thank you Andy.=20
As this product will be a permanent addition, do you know if upgrades or =
new releases will be included (Virtual Server 2005 R2 standard, when =
released)?
This R2 should be a "must upgrade", because of the best compatibility =
with non MS guest operating systems, 64 bit guest OS support in 64 bit =
Host machines, and the best overall performance (including best support =
for hypertreading in the host machine).
I understand that enterprise version of VS2005 is not needed usually for =
MSDN subscribers (not much of us have machines with more than 4 =
processors), but R2 is really an important upgrade.
