Author Are managed newsgroup really working?
Manfred Braun

Hello,

I made now thre tries to write an entry to
microsoft.public.win32.programmer.wmi without any response. I logged on to
the webinterface [to avoid any mistakes to re-configure my outlook express]
and I have a registered alias.

Initially, I started that thread without using managed newsgroups just by
using my private address. There was no response. So I decided to use the
managed newsgroups, because this gives really a support contract. I am MSDN
universal abonnement. I used the webinterface to post my question, but there
was also no response. Beneth that, astoundingly, my new post, posted with
the webinterface from the managed newsgroups, appears NOT as a new top-level
entry in the mentioned newsgroups, but as a reply to my original post

I thought this happens, because I used "new entry" after I read my original
post. But that not the fact. Today, I started my third try and logged on and
made no try to read any entry, but post my question again. Ok, now it's
relatively new, but are the groups really watched?

My question was titled "Question about WMI connection and concurrent use".
What can I do more?

Hope, at least this will be read?????

See my response to Bill Cohagan's post on 12 May.
Are you using one of the set nospam addresses, you can't just make one up?

What's your alias? I was told by product support that I had to use one of
the ones from the dropdown list?

Hi,

thanks for your interest. I've used
manfred.braun@sca.com(NOSPAM)
and I think it's correct. I also got an replay for another case, long time
ago.
Is this alias probably wrong???

Thanks,
Manfred

Yes, as I said, I was told that they changed the rules about eight months
ago. You must use one of their suggested aliases, any first part but only a
limited set of domain parts.

Hello Joe,

thanks a lot for your help. I just created a new alias and posted my

;-)

Hope, this will work now!

Thanks a lot and best regards,
Manfred
