MSDN Jan05 vs MSDN .net Apr04

| I'm a Universal subscriber. I burned a DVD some months ago which I labeled
".NET MSDN" and the installer identifies it as an April 2004 version. Yesterday
I burned a January 2005 version. Except for version, what is the difference
between the MSDN that I downloaded months ago from the Developers Tools/Visual
Studio .NET 2003 area vs. the MSDN that I downloaded yesterday from the MSDN
Library area? BTW I noticed that the Developers Tools/Visual Studio .NET 2003
area no longer has a DVD image of MSDN, only CD images. If there is something
unique about .NET MSDN how do I get it on DVD?
Finally in browsing this group I noticed several things may be broken in the
Jan05 version. Am I better off sticking with my Apr04 .NET version?

| Hi,
In general the latest MSDN will have the latest stuff, additions to
SDKs, additions to the KB etc. However, Jan 05 (in my view) is the first
ever release of MSDN that's actually been a step BACKWARDS.
I installed it at home to test it, but had to keep my old version at
work after finding out important stuff has been either damaged or
removed. Other items such as the DirectX SDK hadn't been updated.
