Validity of an old unregistered MSDN Subscription
|

| A person, who works mostly with UNIX stuff, came across an old (2001 or
2002) MSDN Universal Subscription and has offered to sell it to me for
about a $100 which is within my meager budget. The box has 3 CDs and a
card and he doesn't know if it is still valid or if it was ever
registered. How can I find out if it was registered? And if it wasn't,
would I still be able to receive the CDs from that time period from
MSDN? TIA.

| Customer service should be able to tell you if it was registered through the
MSDN number. If not, you should also check if it can be registered and
activated. I would say "yes", but I am not sure if the change from the 6.0
days to .NET days would invalidate subs that were still sitting out there.
