MSDN newsgroups question
|

| I have, for years, used the newsgroups at news.microsoft.com. Now I have an
MSDN subscription and I signed up for "Managed Newsgroups" as
msnews.microsoft.com where I am gaurenteed an answer with two days. Upon
examining these new newgroups I see they are the very same ones I have been
using all along.
I registered with msnews.microsoft.com. What is the difference between
news.microsoft.com and msnews.microsoft.com? Am I somehow going to get
better answers now than before?

| MSDN subscribers do not have access to different newsgroups so the answers
are the same.
The one difference is if you created an MSDN alias:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/subscript...roups/list.aspx
You are guaranteed an answer.
If no answer comes from someone else, Microsoft should post an answer.
Microsoft will give time for someone else to answer so do not expect a quick
reply from Microsoft.
It has been reported that sometimes the answers do not arrive as promised.
If that happens, double check the alias information to be sure Microsoft can
properly track you.
