Why is it that subscribers to the Empower program who were given a Universal
Subscription (which gave you everything) are now getting the jacked low-end
Professional (or as I like to call it cheap) version of Visual Studio et. al?
What is up with Microsoft changing terms in the middle of an agreement? Do I
smell a class action, again.

I believe your subscription level for Empower is migrated to the MSDN
Premium level, which contains everything that Universal used to contain.
There are, however, now higher subscription levels that Premium that include
architect, developer, and test tools that totally new and not included in
this level (which is probably why they don't call it "Universal" anymore).
I don't believe they state anywhere that your Empower agreement includes
every product available from Microsoft, you may want to check this as you
prepare your class action.

Andy, I think the confusion comes from the fact that Empower was a Universal
subscription and all the info lists Universal as getting the Team editions.
What happened is that Empower Universal was not treated in the same manner
as the normal Universal for this changeover. The other part of the problem
is that this was just decided in the last 2 ws so no one even knew the
outcome until very recently. At one point I had been told that it was
looking very good that Empower would get Team edition.

The class action comment is laughable. MS is free to change this how they
see fit. I just have issue with it from how MS is treating this level of
partner as it gives concern on where they are heading, which seems to be
more of an Enterprise focus than it is small ISVs.

Got it. I can appreciate your frustration and will pass along your
comments, can't promise anything other than to let them know about it.

Thanks Andy. I'm pretty sure they are well aware of the issue and have
finalized the decision but can't hurt to have it repeated. Although I have
no ideas of numbers, you would think that for PR and good will reasons
alone, giving Team Edition to the Empower group would have little downside
to MS but as is I know of a few people upset with the current decision and
also with the new pricing structures.
