I have a network printer from HP.

When i issue a print command, say for 5 pages, i get the 5 pages printed.

But the baloon which notifies me of a successful print, tell me that i have
printed 100 pages or some other obscure number.

similarly, pdf prints are announced as failures, but the pdf is present in
the intended directory.

what is the issue here?
