MSDN editions and Microsoft roadmaps

| I'm trying to decide between MSDN Professional and MSDN Universal for
my company. We have opted to purchase for 3 years so I guess that
takes us into the realms of Longhorn, Orcas, Indigo and the like. The
problem I have is that as it stands the case for Universal in our
organisation is a little weak (personally I would like to get
Universal as it gives us more flexibility but finances being what they
are that is not good enough justification). What I really want to
know is, assuming the Pro/Universal split is around in a couple of
years' time, what new stuff will be available only in Universal? I
don't want us to be left out in the cold because we tried to save some
cash.
I suspect that Microsoft haven't decided this yet - but any
speculation or pointers would be useful.

Look at the feature list at
http://msdn.microsoft.com/subscript...els/default.asp and make
your decision. I don't think you'll get a clearer answer. With
Professional you'll get new versions of Visual Studio (Professional)
and new OSs (for development and testing purposes only). With
Universal you also get a lot of servers (for testing), a full license
of Office and a few other business products, and the Enterprise
Architect version of VS. That's probably what you'll also get in three
years, so you can make your decision based on that.
