Author local vs. network storage of msdn data

When I installed MSDN I selected the areas I'm concerned with to be
installed locally. It feels like it has the index locally, but it's going to
the network (via an URL like
ms-help://MS.MSDNQTR.2004JAN.1033/vccore/html/_core_Support_for_Unicode.htm)
for the articles. Is there a way to determine what parts of MSDN are
installed locally and what has to come from the network?

Those url's are all local. the ms-help:// is just a protocol for the
document explorer which msdn is in.

Thanks Brian. It wasn't that the ms-help:// protocol bothered me, though.
The problem for me was that sometimes the ms-help:// URL resolves to a local
file, and sometimes it resolves to a network file (which is not available if
I'm not connected to my company's internal network.) I assume this is based
on the options I chose when I installed. Is there a way to discover those
options, i.e. what content is installed locally and what's installed on the
network?
