After ws of working with Microsoft support I still haven't resolved this
problem. When I try to download, File Transfer Manager displays
"Application validation succeeded" in the status bar. It then does 5
download retries before timing out. My laptop is connected directly to my
cable modem. If I use dialup with the same laptop it downloads with no
problem. But what good is 56k for most of the files? I've tried
downloading using friends computers (all Comcast) with no luck. So I'm
assuming the problem is with my ISP. Does anyone have any idea why Comcast
would be blocking Microsoft downloads? I'm on the web about 10 hours a day
downloading and uploading and haven't have this problem with anything else.
I tried Comcast support. But of course I never got a response from them.
