Author Passing data between IE and VB

I have two applications. One is VB the other is IE Web based (JS/XML/Oracle).

The users type name and address info into the VP app. They then type the same name and address info into the IE Web app. What a bummer doing all that extra work.

Is there some way to expose the the to IE data fields (the underlying XML perhaps) so that the VB app can push data into the fields? Locally on the desktop (without accessing the servers/mainframes)?

I would like to prototye this by setting up a simple web page that has a called simple text input 'myname' on it and when I type "Tom" in the 'myname' field and click on submit the shows up automatically in the 'name' field (or whichever one I point it at
) in the other app.

Thanks.
