| Every time I try to download something from the Subscriber download page I get an error.
I tried below steps with no luck, if I try to run it manually I receive an error "Application Failed: A serious installation error occurred". I also noticed that the files TransferMgr.cnt and TransferMgr.hlp did not exist. Any suggestions?
1.. Clear cookies and temporary Internet files from your browser.
2.. Set https://msdn.one.microsoft.com as a trusted site.
3.. Set your security level to low or medium/low.
4.. Set your browser to automatically update when a new page is available by following these steps:
A. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools|Internet Options.
B. On the General tab, click "Settings" in the Temporary Internet Files section.
C. In the "check for newer versions of stored pages" section choose automatically.
D. Click OK
E. Click OK
Ensure that you are logged in as an Administrator, and try downloading again.

| What's the error you get when you try and download and on which files?
Do you have a firewall between you and the internet?

| "Application Failed: A serious installation error occurred"
I get this whenever I try to start the app manually or download from the
MSDN site. If I try from another computer everything is fine.
Is there any way to completely uninstall it? or get verbose information?

I haven't seen this particular problem. :(

It sounds like an ActiveX dll/registration problem and MSDN support should
be able to tell you how to fix it if you contact them directly.

| Please use the "contact us" form at the bottom of
http://msdn.microsoft.com/subscriptions/downloads so it can be routed to the
correct support team. Thanks,
