When I download *.iso files, such as Windows 2003 Server versions, I want to
check the file validty with hash codes. For instance - Below is an example of
an email sent by Microsoft for downloading a trial version of Win 2003 Server.

Version: Microsoft® Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition (32-bit)
URL:
http://download.microsoft.com/downl...6/x09-22207.iso
Filename: x09-22207.iso

I noticed the long-number 52beb621-1a93-41bb-a57d-ea5c7aef7f76 in the dir
path.

Is this number the hash code of the target *.iso file?

If so which hash code algorythm did they use (SHA1, MD5, etc)

No, it's some GUID that has been taken at random.

MSDN Subscriber Downloads as a folder called "CRC 3.05" in the Tools, SDKs,
and DDKs folder. The CRC 3.05 tool can be used to validate ISOs posted on
MSDN Subscriber Downloads.
