Author Subscriber downloads and simply ISOBuster question
Dave

I downloaded a volume license copy of Windows XP from MSDN as an ISO file.
Now I need to create a CD from this file.

I downloaded ISOBuster that will extract an ISO file but I am not sure how
to create the Windows XP CD.

I have a writable CD in the CD writer drive but the ISOBuster application
apparantly cannot read the blank CD ("D: is not accessible. Incorrect
function")

Do I simply extract the contents to a temporary folder on my hard drive and
then use my regular CD burn software to copy the files onto the CD? Or is
there a way to get ISOBuster to extract directly onto the CD?

And what wxactly do I "extract" with ISOBuster: the CD object, the Session
object, the track object or just the files themselves?

If you extract the image to a file path then copy it to CD then it won't be
bootable. I personally like ISOrecorder for extracting to CD -

Thanks Andy

The notes on the web site are a little confusing. I am using XP Pro w/SP2
so it looks like I need to download the Beta 2 version. of ISO Recorder

Have you used Beta 2 with XP Pro SP2?

You should be able to bypass using ISOBuster all together and open the iso
file in your cd writer software, then burn to disk.

I've used the beta for no problem.

Yes, this ISORecorder works nicely.

Thanks Andy

Thanks Gary.

Unfortunately my software apparently does not. All I got was a copy of the
iso file burned onto the CD.

But, as mentioned above, the ISORecorder did the job very well.
