New VB User Needs Help

| I have VB 6.0.
My prior experience was self taught Xbase/Clipper (some years ago).
I would like to jump in and learn Visual Basic, primarily to convert an existing DOS application to Windows.
To begin, I would like to be able to take a very simple existing (sample) program, (1) open it within Visual Basic, (2) modify it in some way, and (3) run it. Once I can do this, I believe I can puzzle the rest out from there.
I wonder if anyone would be willing to send me a small sample program and the procedure for opening, editing and running it within the VB6 interface? I could also use some clarification between Visual Basic, and Visual Studio.
A new career may be in the making.
Thanks very much,
