Author Row highlighting does not occur when rows are merged in a MSHFlexg

I have a MSHFlexgrid. Here i have merged few columns and the rows of the
header but now the blue highlight does not appear when i do this, if i remove
the merging then it works.

Can anybody help me showing how to bring the highlight bar? Thanx in advance.
